Come join this very cool and fun elementary school summer program!   Over the past 30 years, Top Secret Science (www.TopSecretKids.org) has worked hands-on with over 2 million local children.  Girls Discovery Lab is where science meets sparkle — a creative, hands-on experience designed to inspire curiosity and confidence.  Girls explore chemistry and artistry as they grow shimmering crystals, craft jewelry, and make their own natural cosmetics like perfumes, spa oils, bath salts and more.  Every project blends fun and learning, giving girls a chance to express their individuality while discovering the science behind beauty and design. Coach Penney has directed girls basketball clinics for 30+ years in various towns on the North Shore, including the Annual Reading Girls Basketball Clinic (now known as One-on-One Basketball Clinic), which will celebrate its 37th year in summer 2026! While capturing five consecutive Middlesex League titles at Reading, Coach Penney’s 2012 Reading team went undefeated (25-0) to win the school’s first Division II MIAA Girls Basketball State Championship. She was selected as Boston Globe Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Reading Memorial High School Hall of Fame in 2015. Many of her former players have played Division I, II and III college basketball and now coach at the youth, high school and college levels.

Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest-growing in the world! The program is designed to teach fencing through activities, games, and exercises that develop coordination, flexibility, and focus. The instructor is Michael Tarascio, a former member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association and certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. He teaches Recreational Classes for Youth, Teens, and Adults. Michael also teaches Advanced Level Technique and Tactics Classes and provides Individual Coaching for the Serious Competitive Fencer. Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest-growing in the world! The program is designed to teach fencing through activities, games, and exercises that develop coordination, flexibility, and focus. The instructor is Michael Tarascio, a former member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest-growing in the world! The program is designed to teach fencing through activities, games, and exercises that develop coordination, flexibility, and focus. The instructor is Michael Tarascio, a former member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association and certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. Aspiring players will have the unique opportunity to work on basketball fundamentals with the Wakefield High School Varsity Basketball Coaches, Assistant Coaches and High School Players.  The clinic will emphasize fundamental skills and team play using drills from the high school's varsity program.  This program is available for both boys and girls.Coach Bios - Coach Colin Halpin has been in the coaching industry for a decade and is currently the WMHS Boys Varsity Coach. Previously he coached at Emerson College and is currently a director and coach for the North Shore Sports Academy (NSSA) AAU Basketball. Following a State Championship at BC High and 1300 points at Suffolk University, Halpin now loves to share his passion for the game. Following coaching stops at Suffolk University, KIPP Academy and Emerson College, he is now in his first year as Varsity Head Coach at Wakefield High. Over the last several years, Halpin has trained League All-Stars and numerous college players. If you know Coach Halpin you've heard him say "Hard work is the only way!!!" Coach Matt Barboza comes from quite a basketball background. He played on three State Championship teams at Bishop Hendricken before playing at the college level for Division 2 Franklin & Pierce before finishing at Johnson & Wales University. Coach Matt specializes in the player development, helping tons of kids on the northshore develop their game. Currently he is the Head JV coach and Assistant Varsity coach at Wakefield High School.   Coach Tom Leahy is a staple in the Wakefield Athletic community. Following a successful varsity career as a baseball and basketball player for the Warriors ,Tom went on to graduate from Salem State. For the last 14 years Tom has worked in numerous roles for the Boys' Basketball Program including: Freshman Head Coach, JV coach, and currently a Varsity Assistant. He also serves as a Varsity Assistant for the Warrior Baseball Program. He is an integral part of the community both as a teacher and a coach. Coach Jason Pavey, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach since 2018, on staff since 2008. History teacher in WPS for 20 years. Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest-growing in the world! The program is designed to teach fencing through activities, games, and exercises that develop coordination, flexibility, and focus. The instructor is Michael Tarascio, a former member of the United States World Championship Team in Men's Foil. Following a State Championship at BC High and 1300 points at Suffolk University, Halpin now loves to share his passion for the game. Following coaching stops at Suffolk University, KIPP Academy and Emerson College, he is now in his first year as Varsity Head Coach at Wakefield High. Over the last several years, Halpin has trained League All-Stars and numerous college players. If you know Coach Halpin you've heard him say "Hard work is the only way!!!" Coach Matt Barboza comes from quite a basketball background. He played on three State Championship teams at Bishop Hendricken before playing at the college level for Division 2 Franklin & Pierce before finishing at Johnson & Wales University. Coach Matt specializes in the player development, helping tons of kids on the northshore develop their game. Currently he is the Head JV coach and Assistant Varsity coach at Wakefield High School.   Coach Tom Leahy is a staple in the Wakefield Athletic community. Following a successful varsity career as a baseball and basketball player for the Warriors ,Tom went on to graduate from Salem State. For the last 14 years Tom has worked in numerous roles for the Boys' Basketball Program including: Freshman Head Coach, JV coach, and currently a Varsity Assistant. He also serves as a Varsity Assistant for the Warrior Baseball Program. He is an integral part of the community both as a teacher and a coach. Coach Jason Pavey, Girls Varsity Basketball Coach since 2018, on staff since 2008. History teacher in WPS for 20 years. Baseball Coach at Reading Memorial High School since 2013.  Coach Kayla Wyland, Varsity Basketball Asst. Coach since 2019.
